By using theorangeledger.com you accept these terms. They are short, and written to be read.

What the site is

The Orange Ledger is an independent publication by 2035 Agency LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales under number OC458940, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. It is written by Arthur van de Laak. It analyses the finances of football clubs, mainly Premier League clubs, from public sources: accounts filed at Companies House, published rules, and reported transfer fees and contracts.

Estimates, not official figures

• The figures are estimates. Squad cost ratios and other calculations on this site are the Orange Ledger's independent reconstructions. They are not the Premier League's figures, which the League does not publish, nor any club's.
• They carry uncertainty. Estimates are given with ranges, and the methods are explained in each article and on The Engine page. They can and do change as new information arrives; changes and corrections are dated.
• Not advice. Nothing on the site is financial, investment, legal or betting advice. Do not rely on it for decisions of that kind.
• No guarantee. We work to get things right, but we cannot guarantee that everything is complete, accurate or up to date, and we are not liable for loss arising from use of the site, except where the law does not allow that liability to be excluded.

Using the content

• Articles and images are the copyright of 2035 Agency LLP. You may quote short extracts and share links, with credit to "The Orange Ledger, theorangeledger.com". Please ask before republishing a whole article or chart.
• The open data files (the CSV and JSON rankings) give each club's headline figures. You may quote them, with credit to "The Orange Ledger, theorangeledger.com" and the range alongside any figure you quote. You may not republish them in bulk, or include them in another database, dataset or data product, without our written permission.
• The database. The figures on this site come from a database built by obtaining, checking and verifying club accounts, filings and transfer records, and that investment is protected by database right as well as copyright. Extracting or re-using all or a substantial part of it, including by repeated or systematic extraction of smaller parts, is not permitted without our written permission. To license the data, or the detailed evidence behind it, please contact us.
• Automated access by search engines and AI tools is welcome for indexing and answering questions, as set out in our robots.txt and llms.txt. Please attribute figures you reproduce. Scraping the site to build or feed another database or product is not permitted.

Club names

Club names belong to the clubs they represent and are used only to identify each club; the site does not use club crests. The Orange Ledger is not affiliated with or endorsed by any club, the Premier League or any other football body.

Corrections

If you believe something on the site is wrong, please tell us, with the source if you have one. Corrections are made promptly and shown, dated, at the top of the article concerned.
